On 20 July 1961, two clubs from Livadeia decided to join forces. Levadiakos turns 66 on 20 July 2027. It is the "Emperor of Central Greece", a provincial club that has learned to fall and rise again.

Trofonios and Pallevadiaki

The club was born from the merger of two local sides, Trofonios and Pallevadiaki. The new team took the name of the town, known in antiquity as Lebadeia. In this way the Boeotian town gained a single, stronger team to represent it on pitches all over Greece.

The name Trofonios points to one of the region's most famous legends. According to mythology, the hero Trophonius vanished into a chasm at Lebadeia, near the river Herkyna, and his oracle operated there for centuries.

According to Herodotus, even Croesus sent envoys to this oracle. Few Greek clubs can boast such "ancient" roots.

Blue, green and white

Levadiakos's colours are a small story of union. The blue came from Trofonios and the green from Pallevadiaki.

According to some accounts, white was the colour the two clubs shared, and it dominated the shirts of the early years. The colours also gave the club its nickname, "the Blue-Greens".

The crest has vertical blue and green stripes. The idea is credited to Konstantinos Litinas, the man who shaped the club's history.

The first promotion in 1987

In its early years Levadiakos struggled in the second tier, often close to relegation. In the 1980s, however, the team grew stronger.

In May 1987, led by Konstantinos "Prince" Litinas, it celebrated its first promotion to the Alpha Ethniki. It stayed there for four seasons and was back among the elite in 1994 and 1995.

The lift of Central Greece

Since then Levadiakos has been the classic "yo-yo" club. It returned to the top flight in 2005, again in 2007-08, and stayed continuously from 2011-12 to 2018-19.

There were bitter moments too. In 2005 it went straight back down, in 2009-10 it was relegated again in 14th place, and the same story was repeated in 2022-23.

It has won the Super League 2 title twice, in 2021-22 and 2023-24. The second brought it back to the Super League, where it finished 9th in 2024-25.

Home is the Livadeia Municipal Stadium, built in 1952 on the south side of town, about 130 km north-west of Athens. It holds just under 6,000 spectators.

Faces and recent thrills

Georgios Zisopoulos holds the appearance record with 226 games, while the top scorer is Vangelis Mantzios with 42 goals. Italian Stefano Napoleoni follows with 27 goals.

The 2025-26 season will be remembered for the Cup. Levadiakos got past Kifisia and reached the semi-finals, only the second time it had competed for a place in the final, after 1985.

There it drew 1-1 with OFI in Heraklion and went out 0-1 in the return leg in February 2026.

Celebrate with us

Levadiakos is proof that provincial Greece has a football soul. A town with myths thousands of years old backs a team that never stops dreaming.

Happy 66th birthday, Levadiakos! May the Blue-Greens keep making all of Boeotia proud.
