Kyrgiakos in his biggest challenge of his career, as he said, joins one of the greatest clubs in the world. Sotiris is the first ever Greek to join Liverpool FC in order to play and 'feel' what is like to play in Anfield, a stadium packed with history.He had previously enjoyed a spell at Rangers, winning the Scottish title and League Cup during an 18-month spell.
The 6ft 4inch stopper started his career with the Panathinaikos academy in 1996 before establishing himself in the club's first team.
He is also a regular for the Greek national team and while he missed their triumph in Euro 2004 due to injury, he played all their games in Euro 2008. |
